LYING ABOUT HAPPINESS: Focus on [this] statement for a minute -- "the connections to happiness are assumptions and lies." Media lead us to the unexamined assumption that owning more and better things will make us happier, that controlling more of our lives and being more independent and less needful of others will give us more happiness.
